Charitable Contributions

If you are over 70 ½ years old you should consider charitable giving directly from your IRA account. This will result in your IRA distribution not being included in taxable income. Under the new tax law many taxpayers will not be itemizing their deductions, which eliminates the tax advantage of charitable contributions. Therefore, you’ll gain the advantage of reducing taxable income by donating through your IRA account.
